Topchanchi Lake
It is Located 37 Km from Dhanbad and is a big reservoir from where water is supplied to Dhanbad and its suburbs. It spreads over an area of 214 Ac. The Topchanchi Wildlife Sanctuary covers a sprawling plot that measures approximately 8.75 square kilometers and it preserve the innocuous essence of the wild beasts that reside in it. You can take a glimps of Parasnath hill from Topchanchi.

Shantiniketan
Shantiniketan (or abode of piece) is located 165 km Dhanbad. Here Rabindranath Tagore started Patha Bhavana, the school of his ideals, whose central premise was that learning in a natural environment would be more enjoyable and fruitful. After he received the Nobel Prize (1913), the school was expanded into a university in 1921. By 1951, it had become one of India's central universities.

Maithon Dam
It is Located 48 Km from Dhanbad and is 4,789 m long and 50 m high. This dam was designed for flood control and generates 60 MW of electric power. There is an underground power station, the first of its kind in the whole of South East Asia. The dam is constructed on the Barakar River. The lake is spread over 65 square km. It is very close to Kalyaneshwari temple.
